Say the magic word, and you’re hired!

I was slacking with the bunch of my usual friends, talking cock over and over, and we suddenly opened a topic regarding jobs. We were saying, what if all the interviewer wants is for you to say “the magic word” so that they will hire you immediately. So here’s our conversation…

Me: Last time when I was a kid, teachers asked me “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, so I replied “I wanna be a pilot!”

Is: And mine was to be a policeman!

Me: Then one day, I got shortlisted for the pilot interview and the interviewer asked me “Why do you want to be a pilot?”

Is: I will say “Because I want to fly and see the world!”

Me (acting as the interviewer now): No, but why?

Is: Because I love aeroplanes!

Me: But why?

Is: Because I want to immitate Tom Cruise in Top Gun!

Me: YES! THAT’S THE ONE!

Then we all went laughing hyterically. Then we came up with another one… (I’m still being the interviewer)

Me: Why do you want to be a policeman?

Is: Because I want to catch bad people.

Me: But why?

Is: Because I want to fight for justice.

Me: No, but why?

Is: Because when I’m small I kept watching “Police Academy” and wanted to be like them!

Me: YES! THAT’S THE ANSWER I’M LOOKING FOR!

Here’s another variation…

Me: Why do you want to join the Army?

Is: Because I want to serve for the nation.

Me: Don’t bullshit. Why you want to join the Army?

Is: Because I liked weapons and fight terrorist.

Me: I said don’t bullshit! Why do you want to join the Army?

Is: Because I want to try like Rambo, how to handle heavy machine guns on either hands and spray out bullets like crazy like my favourite old-time game, Contra!

Me: YES! THAT’S THE ONE! You don’t have to bullshit, just say the truth!

Jokes aside. Now I really wonder if that’s what interviewers wants to hear. Just say the “magic word”, and you’ll be hired.

Now… I was posed with this question…

Q: Any last words to differentiate between yourself and the other candidates?

How would you answer it? Leave your comments. It will help me in my future interviews.
