I’m sure the very first thing you want to do with your Samsung F480 is to install games.
However, Samsung devices doesn’t allow “direct copy-and-paste” of the jar files into the memory card or the phone memory. It won’t run, and give you a “unsupported file” message.
So, if you really want to install games, you currently have 2 options:
1) Buy games online. Charges will incur, such as the game cost and GPRS. Or…
2) Download the games (which cost lower than buying the game)
If you bumped into my post because of option 2, then read on. Please take note that I do not guarantee the playability of the games nor compatibility of the games you are trying to install. I assume you are prepared to pay GPRS charges (yes it uses them), and have gotten the games through legal means, and you need to install them without re-buying the games.
Ok, here’s how.
First, google for “DavidPye” and you should get a page to it. Look for the link “FreeWAP”. It’s a free website which allows you to temporarily upload your files via his web server, and then download it back using your phone. All files uploaded to his server gets deleted in 3 hours, and they are visible to public.
Next, upload the files you need. You might need to upload the JAD file, and if you don’t have the JAD file, you can download a freeware to get your JAD file from your JAR file. Google one, and you should find one pretty easily. (I recommend JADMaker)
After uploading, the page will give you the direct link to the files, or the main link, where you can see other files there too.
Now run your phone’s browser, go to that link. Your download should commence shortly.
To avoid unnecessary GPRS charges while downloading, please make sure you have high signal strength and not expecting calls/sms/whatever that might interrupt the data transfer. Remember, every single KB is worth your money (it’s about a few cents per KB), so think wisely.
Once you’ve completed downloading it, viola! You now have a new game in your phone!
Most games are about 300KB-500KB, and that should cost you around $5 ($0.0107 x 500KB). So be careful not to download too much, or you’ll end up paying a lot for it.
If you buy a game, it normally cost you about $6 – $8. That doesn’t include the GPRS charges you’re going to incur. So potentially, a single downloaded game can cost you about $11+, all just to get a 500KB game into your phone. Not forgetting those dropped connections. Remember, every KB counts.
Unless you have your own money to support, then go ahead! Noones stopping you anyway.
Btw, if you’re a heavy GPRS user, I would strongly recommend you getting a data pack (depending on your mobile provider). It is way cheaper compared to pay-per-use connections (as described above).
Good luck installing your new games into your new phones!
P.S: I am still figuring out how can I install games via BT or cable. I’m sure there’s a way. I will update if I figure anything out.

I don’t think it’s possible.
Maybe it could? You never know what the future firmware holds…
aa.. luv it very2 much.. thanx bro. btw, i knew the phone doesn’t support theme application watsoever but do u have any idea how am i suppose to change the background/skin from white to some other colours?
i guess so.
hence, i’ve decided to go back to Nokia!
I’m so loving my N82…
it is a just a con to get you to spend money
on unneccesary gprs charges to install the software to ur phone (the games)
which should be able to be sent via cable or bt !
the fact that you have to pay to upload the games via gprs rather than simply tranfer data via usb cable is simply pointless.
JUST A WAY OF MOBILE PHONE PROVIDERS GETING MORE EASY MONEY
