Where to fix the Internal Card Reader

I bought an internal card reader to complement my new case, since I have a lot of friends who come to my house to use my PC to store stuffs into their memory cards.

So I head down to Sim Lim, and grab myself, a fairly “brandsack” internal card reader, with no manual.

I find this amusing… I asked the shop: “Where do I connect this header?”

He said: “To the motherboard.”

I said: “I know, but which pin?”

He looked at the thing, and then give off a questionable look. Then he said “Look for J11 on the board.”

I wanted to laugh out loud! He don’t even know what he’s talking about. Well, talk about selling computer peripherals. LOL.

If you do buy an internal card reader, the pin is to be connected to an empty USB pin, aligning them along the “4 pin”. (There’s 9 pins together, there’s one row with 4 pins). Fix it there, and when you start your computer, it will tell you that you just fixed in a USB device.

Well, actually you did! :)

For $18, who can complain?
